ABOUT: THE EC TEAM

Editing and curating the stories that grace
Equestrian Culture’s pages has resulted in so many wonderful relationships with equestrian small business owners and artists from all over the world. These entrepreneurs have inspired me. Behind each of their businesses are rich stories about how they built their own path in life; many attributing their entrepreneurial spirit and perseverance to the horses in their lives.

When Danielle approached me for some help finalizing the Equestrian Culture logo, I was floored. A beautiful magazine about horses, art and small business, curated with incredible taste? Equestrian Culture had my name written all over it—I had to be a part of this magazine. My true calling has always been publication design. Something about choosing typefaces, the careful balance of making & breaking the grid, and painstakingly adjusting & readjusting the rag of a paragraph…I could design a magazine for the rest of my life!

Rachel’s love of horses began during a pony ride. She cried the entire time she was in the saddle and cried even more when she was taken off. Now a lifelong horse lover, Rachel loves that Equestrian Culture allows her to combine her passions for horses, fashion, and writing, which are at the centre of every aspect of her life. When she’s not enjoying time spent at the barn, Rachel is designing custom horsehair jewelry for her company, Cricket&Blue, or is writing essays for her final year of her degrees in English and philosophy.

Convincing her parents to sign her up for that first lesson was a challenge, but the rest was history! Today Kira is an avid upper level Eventer who teaches, trains, and competes in Area II. She is also an HA member of USPC, and she credits many of her favorite horsey memories to Pony Club. When not covered in barn dirt and horse hair, she is covered in paint. Kira is an artist who recently graduated with degrees in both Communication and Studio Art. She is thrilled to be part of the Equestrian Culture team because it allows her to blend the main passions in her life.
